Frequently asked
What does Thumb Blocker do?
It blocks (hides) thumbnails on YouTube so you can browse, search, and watch without clickbait imagery pulling your attention. Toggle it on or off any time from the popup.
How do I turn it on or off?
Click the Thumb Blocker icon in your Chrome toolbar and use the toggle. Your choice is saved locally and stays in sync between the popup and the YouTube page across browser sessions.
What data does it collect?
None. The extension only stores your on/off preference locally on your device using chrome.storage.local. No personal data is collected, transmitted, or shared.
The thumbnails are still showing — what should I do?
Make sure the toggle is on, then refresh the YouTube tab. If it still does not work, disable and re-enable the extension from chrome://extensions, or email me below with your Chrome version.
Privacy
Thumb Blocker does not collect, transmit, or share any
personal data. The only thing it stores is your on/off preference,
saved locally on your device via chrome.storage.local so
it persists across browser sessions. Host permissions are used solely
to hide thumbnails on the supported site (YouTube). Nothing leaves your
browser.
